AUTUM IN MY HEART

My name is Autumn, like the four season; summer, spring, autumn and winter. I was very close to my best friend, April and Adam. Well mostly April. Probably because she was a girl and Adam was boy. I suppose I can say it that way. Practically, they’re both were a twin. And was my only friend back at high school at High Field High School- I wasn’t very much popular. Moreover, they were my neighbour. We always go to school together. I and April have a lot of in common. She likes to sing and ruined her brother’s life. And also, the dress that my aunt gave to me when I celebrate my eighteenth birthday party. The party wasn’t so horrible like other teens could imagine, not like my fifteenth birthday. It was so embarrassing when we all eating, my dad showed my friends the picture of me naked when I was 3. It was so horrible and worst day in my life! Even Peter the school’s prince charming also Jessica’s boyfriend laughed. But that was old stories. Now that I’m eighteenth, I ruled the high school- keep dreaming, I still was the old Autumn mostly hanging out with my best friend April and Adam. Yet, the school’s prince charming is still at High Field High School. That keeps me and April felt so happy and glowing. And he recently just broke with Jessica and that makes us both want to jump out of happiness.  

   It’s the first day of school since Christmas holiday. I felt gloomy back to school. It’s like there was nothing change. Accept for the lockers, last year my locker’s number was 3012 and this year it was 3013. It’s very weird and I don’t like it. I saw April and Adam walking towards me, and they greeted me.

“Hey Autumn” April and Adam said.

“Hey” I said.

“I guest there’s nothing change around the school.” April said.

When she says nothing change it really is nothing has change. Even the subjects don’t change. I and April go to the same class. Except on Wednesday. The bell rang and we both rush go to class. It’s Monday and the first period is Chemistry. We both don’t like Mr. Potter’s class, and Mr. Potter. He always tells us his not-so-funny joke and we just watch and listen.

Some of them was texting and on the other hand was sleeping. We were really not learning, were just listening his stupid and boring joke.

“Autumn!” Mr. Potter said.

“Yes?”

“Can you tell me what Chemistry is?” he said.

At that point, I couldn’t answer the question. Everyone looked at me like I’m a criminal.

“Umm...”

“Yes?  Miss Johnson.” He said.

Johnson was my dad’s name. Mr. Potter and my dad go to the same school 30 years ago. They were classmate and that’s how Mr. Potter knew me. He said I have my dad’s eyes. My eyes were brownish.

 “Well” I said

*ringggg!

“Recess!” Daniel said.

Daniel is my classmate, he’s the class clown. Well I know him; he likes me and had a crush on me when I was fifteenth. He even gave me chocolate when Valentine Days, and ask me to be his girlfriend. I said no and now, Susie was his girlfriend. Weird but perfect couple.

“Alright class, that’s all for today. I see you on Thursday. And there will be a quiz.” Mr. Potter said.

“I hope he’s joking” April whispered to me.

“I guess he is” I said.

“Oh, Miss Johnson, A boy gave this to me. He said to give it to you.” Mr. Potter said.

“Well, thanks.”

“What is it? April said to me.

“It just a stupid invitation party that I don’t go. Why?” I said.

“Who give it to you?” She said.

“Let me see...”

Just as I expected. It was from Billy, the school nerd. He is so obsessed with my smell and likes my layer brown hair. There’s was the time when I was walking home alone, April and Adam was sick. He followed me like a stalker.  It’s too creepy and disturbing. Thank god, my dad saw me on his way back home. I let myself inside my dad’s car and watch Billy through the window car. 

“It’s from Billy the nerd” I said to her.

“Well, aren’t you coming to his party?” She said.

“April, I don’t like him doing research at my hair and my smell. Plus, he puts my picture in his locker. Do you like boys who do that?” I said to her.

“Ok. If you don’t go, I will. If you don’t mind.”

I can’t believe April go to that boring party. And, she wants me to come with her- Isn’t it marvellous! Yet boring. I guess I’m popular at the nerds.  The bell rang and we enter our next class. During the class, I saw Peter, the school’s prince charming entering the class; we were on the same class. He was in front of both of us. Those ocean blue eyes and wavy hair he had make us melt down. Peter’s hair was black and his skin was pure baby skin. That makes any shirt suitable for him to wear. Of course, our heaven was with us. But just for a moment, when we saw the ice princess, with her followers. Jessica saw me sitting behind Peter; then she sits next to Peter. The class started and it was Mrs. Rupert. I like her teaching us History.

“Peter, what are you doing?!” Jessica said.

“What do you think I’m doing? I’m changing my place to sit.” He said

“Fine!” She said.

I was very shocked that Peter suddenly sits next to me. Jessica was very jealous. And on that day, she becomes my enemy. April was speechless and really don’t mind him sitting next to me.

“Hi, mind if I sit here?” Peter said to me.

“Don’t mind if I do” I said.

“I have come to your birthday party three years ago, what was your name again?” He said.

“Well, I’m Autumn Johnson.”

I was so glad, he didn’t mention about the picture that my dad show them.

“Oh. Well, I’m Peter Jackson. That was one great party.”

Both our name has an ending with a ‘son’ at the back.

“Yes. I know who you are. You’re Peter, the school’s prince charming and captain of the basketball team. Thanks.” I said

“I guess you know me very much. You want to throw another birthday party?”

And just a second, we become friends. The class was over and I didn’t even listen to what Mrs. Rupert had said. Adam was near the door, watching me and April. I tell April to wait me at the door with Adam.

“Well, I have to go now. Goodbye” I said to him.

“Can I have your phone number, or anything else that we can stay in touch?” He said to me.

“I live down town.  89 Elm Street.”

“Ok Autumn, see you later.” He said.

Its 3 o’clock. Schools over and I walk with Adam and April. I saw Jessica talking to Daniel. I bet she’d planned an evil planned for me. She looked at me with her sharp evil demonic eye.

“Hey Autumn, are you free tonight?” Adam said.

“Well, we both are going to Billy’s party. Want to come?”

“Sure. “He said.

I got home at 4 o’clock and go upstairs at my room. I took a shower and get dress up. I call April, and she said they will go to my house at 7. I look at clock its 6 o’clock. When I go the kitchen and saw a notice at the refrigerator. It say ‘we’ll be back at 10, love mom, dad and Abigail. ‘.  Abigail was my sister. Of course, she was the family treasure. Mom and dad love her so much, even if I had gone missing, they surely didn’t notice me. My life was totally perfect before Abigail was born. After she was born, she becomes the number one in the family. But I’m not the jealousy type. I let them treat Abigail like that. I love my family so much. Dad was a manager at his company. And mom worked as a kindergarten teacher also a lovable caring person in the house.  It’s 7, April and Adam arrives just in time.

“Gosh, you look amazing Autumn.” Adam said to me.

“Really? Thanks” smiled to him.

I was wearing my short black dress and wearing a boots. Like a country bumpkin. I don’t think that’s suits with me. But what the hell, some of my clothes were at my Cousin Leah’s house. We spend the holiday at they’re house last year. I just wear any clothes that I have left in my room.

“Well? I don’t want to be late. C’mon!” April said.

“Gee, April. What’s with the rush?” Adam said to her.

I write a note ‘Sleeps at April’s’ and put it on the refrigerator. So mom and dad know where I was. And we off to Billy’s house. The address that Billy gave wasn’t so far from my house; it was just near the town. We arrive at Billy’s house. His house was huge and cool.

April was surely surprise. We entered the house and the party was pretty awesome- I guess some nerds have secret too. I saw Billy dancing with Lily his friend. I tell April I’m going to say something to Billy.

“Hey Billy!” I shout

“Yes?” –with his nerdy voice and slimy nose.

“Nice party you got here”

“Well, Thank you.” He said.

Then he giggles like a total geek and that makes me pretty uncomfortable. When I turn around I saw Peter and he saw me too. He has something to tell me. But I couldn’t hear it because of the music. He grabs my arms and takes me outside. Adam saw Peter and me outside and he felt uncomfortable. I wasn’t felling very uncomfortable when Peter grabs my arms and takes me outside.

“You look beautiful” Peter said and smiled to me.

“Thanks, so do you... I mean you look great” I said and smiled.

At that time, the song was Taylor Swift’s Love Story. We talk and talk. The he asks me if I had been kissed before. I tell him no. And suddenly... he was about to kissed me. But Adam came by and said;

“Hey Autumn, April calls you.”

I knew Adam wanted to stop Peter from kissing me. He was looking Peter with his sharp eye. I said, “Ok”. And quickly stands up, go to April’s. Adam followed me and leaves Peter behind. Peter smiled and calls Adam.

“I know you like her.” He said to him.

“If I liked her, why?” He said.

I couldn’t hear them talking because of the music. I leave Adam and go to April’s. She was dancing with Jack. Peter’s friend. I pull her hands and ask her why she called me. She said, she hasn’t called me. And I knew it was Adam who made up the story, so he can stop Peter from kissing me. I was upset and fell so hate to him. I wasn’t in the mood. I tell April I wanted to go home. Then I walked home. I was alone and Adam saw me. He asked where I’d go. I ignored him and keep going.  He grabs my arm and asks me where I’d go. He won’t stop until I tell him where I go. Its 10 o’clock and I forgot I tell my parents that I sleep at April’s house.  I still ignored Adam. I go back inside and go to April. I saw her talking with Jack.
